The Phone company SUCKS DICK rant.

On January 31, 2000 I called My local Phone company to give me phone, they said it would take 4 days and hung up without giving me my new number.

4 days later the installation guy comes to my door and tells me he can’t get a dial tone and someone will call me within 24 hours to tell me when my phone would be hooked up/what was wrong. I gave him a message phone to have them call me at. And thus started the never ending sage with…THE FUCKED UP TELEPHONE COMPANY!

Ok, so the next day no one calls, so I call, the lady tell me there “is no such account” and that I will be called back the next day. I call another number I was given, it was supposed to close at 1 am, they shut the phones down some time before 12:23 am…I know because I called and they were closed.

Again, the next day, no one calls. I call and talk to someone and she says she can call up my account and there is a work order on it but they didn’t have an address for me (isn’t that odd since they sent me a bill for the installation in the mail?). She told me to call back the next day and ask about the progress of the work order, again I leave my message #.

Ok, now it’s the 6th of February and I call to check the status “it’s being worked on they say” call back tomorrow.

02.07.00 I call back and get a lady who puts me on hold for 8 minutes without coming back. I hang up and call back. I get a guy who said the number I gave him is not coming up, oh no it’s coming up but not at the right address, oph wait a minute….he puts me on hold for 7 minutes, come back and says he has to get me through to another office, can I hold. I was at a friends house and they had to use the phone so I say “can you call me back at this number (the one I’ve given at least 10 times through the last several days and is ON MY ACCOUNT) in 5 minutes. He says yes, hangs up, I wait 15 minutes, he vever calls back.

I call back, Talk to some chick, she finally tells me that I should have a loaner cell phone by now. Of course NO ONE told ME that!. She also tells me of all these credits I am supposed to get, and that my acount had been transferred to a “case worker” and I should have been given her number (oh REEAAALLLY!). She then transfers me to a phone tree to leave a message, I get a woman in the same office as my case worker, she tells me more about the credits, my case workers name and transfers me to her Voice Mail. I leave a message.

02.08.00 My case worker calls and leaves a message, says there is line damage, it may take 3-4 weeks to get me a working phone and that she has 400 other customers with the same problem so getting ahold of her might be difficult. Also mentions I can have a loaner phone if I want or $100.  I decide I want the $100. Called abck and taked to someone about that, made a couple of other attempts to get ahold of case worker, couldn’t oh well.

02.14.00 call and try to get ahold of my case worker, can’t want to talk to someone, she says she can’t find my caseworker at her desk and would I leave a VM, I say ok, she also leaves a note on caseworkers desk.

I wait until 02.20.00 I still have no return call at my message phone number which I have left every time I’ve called and talked to anyone or left any message.

02.20.00 I call and talk to the first person I can find in the same department as my caseworker (obviously the bitch ain’t calling me back). I get a-hold of a guy, he tells me the exact itemization of the credits and asks if I want a loaner phone I say yes, It’s been 3 weeks I figured I would have a phone by now, hook me up. I also mention my caseworker hasn’t bother to call but that she must be busy with those 400 other customers, he looks up the file says “400?? , no, there are only 4 people on her case file)…oh really I say, how nice. He orders a phone for me, says it’ll be delivered to my house 02.22.00 and he’ll call me back Wednesday 02.23.00 to make sure all is well.

02.22.00 I call and leave a message, no phone has been delivered.  Finally get ahold of guy he says it’s delayed 1 day it’ll be delivered tomorrow around 2pm, I tell him I waited all day today, I have to do something tomorrow can I pick it up? “no, it’s on the truck, they’ll just drop it off on your porch”

02.23.00 I call 3X trying to get ahold of this guy because the phone was NOT delivered, he never answers, I finally leave a VM and try my case worker, she also doesn’t answer.

02.23.00 I all Cellular company to see if I can get any info, they don’t show our name on anything, according to them no phone was sent to us.

02.23.00 Guy leaves a message at message phone that the phone was delivered

02.23.00 I call back and say, no it wasn’t.

02.27.00 no phone call back as of yet in regards my cell loaner.

02.27.00 go to phone booth (which I have been using for 2 weeks) call and leave message in AM

02.27.00 Call back hold for 10 minutes waiting for an operator. Talk to guy, I explain situation. Says he can’t do anything till the AM after he talks to the guy I was working with. He’ll see if he can rush another  phone through.

02.28.00 leave a VM for Guy and for case worker wondering where the hell my phone is.

02.28.00 2 hours later, leave messages for both of them again.

02.28.00 Call, ask for the manager, he was the one that answered the phone, says he’ll talk to guy in AM, try to get me another phone, has no news for me. He’ll call back.

02.29.00 calls and leaves message at my message phone to call him back (I had his extension #) I call back, I enter extension # it says it’s invalid. I call back again, go through the phone tree to get an operator instead and he answers, says the phone “was delivered” I say I want one in 48 hours or I’m taking it to the next highest level, I’m tired of the B.S. He hedges and then tries to imply I stole the fucking thing…yeah right!

03.01.00 I  come home from spending the night at my cousin’s and find the box with the cell phone on my doorstep. It has a note written right on the box “this was left at my house on “XX” road (the road I live on) on 02.23.00. No address as to where it was left, no one knocked. It was just left there. I call back and tell them not to disconnect the old cell phone (they hadn’t) and that it had arrived. No one calls back.

03.06.00 called and left a message for my case worker. I still haven’t heard anything back.

03.09.00 I called again and got "joe" he said my caseworker called me on 03.02.00 and left a message that I have a due date of 03.08.00 (yes but it's the 9th NOW and NO PHONE) for phone connect. That's funny, since no one was home and I have no answering service NOTE: I also checke with the people who I was usuing as a message phone and they said no one called them either.). "joe" said he thinks the problem is my phone was forwared to the cell and that may interfere with out going calls/dial tone on line (huh?).

12.40pm I was told that my case worker would call me back in 10 mins.

1.00pm no call back, battery on phone may have been dead. Called back and left message to call back by 1.30 as I was leaving but no call back.

03.09.00 called back AGAIN (this is call #3 for the day). I explain everything to a guy named "Bob" he says he will be taking the case over and see to it all is worked out. He will override and put in the phone by tomorrow, will have a tech out tomorrow by 5pm and I will be reciveing a 100$ credit and a $50 missed commitment credit and a bunch of other credits that will be on my account on my april or may statement.

03.10.00 service on phone is FINALLY CONNECTED!

03.29.00 called and am transferred to old case worker. I tell her I wanted to make sure I will receive my credits, she said she shows it on her screen and that it will show up on april or may statement.

05.02.00 I have received 1 credit on my statement, a credit for $0.21. AND a check for $0.21, wow, $0.42. Wow, I'm impressed, but they OWE ME OVER $100! So I call. I get to talk to the guy that gave me the bogus phone number on 02.28.00. He said it was odd that I did not get my credits and that he does NOT show any note about the phone call I made on 03.29.00 he said I WILL have a credit on my account within 2 months. yeah right!

Did I mention they are charging me 35.00 a month for basic service no long distance (per my request, which they are chargining me $2.00 amonth for, yes kiddies, $2.00 a month to NOT have LD) with voice mail( which is only $5 a month)?

05.02.00 had phone put in my name because I can get a discount and Tom can't, though he's still on the account, let's see if we get the credtis now, haha, they SAID i'll get them anyway, but I'm not holding my breath.

And you know the ironic part? I have 1 relative and 2 friends that work for the fucking company…you’d think I’d get some kind of respect…phaw! Update: one friend has since quit the job due to sexual harrassment and it being a terrible job not even worth the large amounts of money they paid her and the great bennies...hahaha
